Community satisfaction surveys for local government

Social Dimensions has developed a simple, informative questionnaire for Australian local governments to measure what residents think of their services and which services are most important to them.  The questionnaire can be administered by telephone or through the mail or even over the internet.

Managers and council members will receive practical feedback, categorising service performance as:

  • very important and needs urgent improvement – should be a high priority;
  • not so important but performance should be improved – improving services should be the second highest priority;
  • very important and performance is regarded to be high – maintain this service at the high level; and,
  • very high performance but the service not highly valued – may be able to do some cost-cutting if it does not deteriorate the quality of services too much.
